Ariel Lane is one of our recent high school graduates. She recently graduated from Cornerstone Christian Academy in Shelbyville and will be attending Campbellsville University. Ariel is the daughter of Rob and Diane Lane and has a brother and three sisters who attend Holly Hill: Ben (and Amber with daughter Gabriella), Jessica, Haleigh and Melody. Her grandparents are Lonnie and Annie Eades, Alice Brock and Richard Lane.
Ariel has been a lifelong resident of Shelbyville and worked at Amber Oaks Assisted Living for the past year. She also worked this past summer as a receptionist at Cornerstone Christian Academy.
What brought you to Holly Hill church of Christ? Me and my family decided to switch churches about 9 years ago and kept looking until we felt right at home here at Holly Hill.
What do you most enjoy about Holly Hill church of Christ (or about being a Christian)? I love coming to Holly Hill and enjoying fellowship with everyone! I always feel encouraged and uplifted because of the people there!
What are your hobbies? I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like sports, running, music, and just about anything where I am enjoying time with others!
What special skills or talents do you have (personal or professional)? I absolutely love to work with kids. I like working in an environment with others and connecting with other people. I enjoy my job at Amber Oaks because of the work with the residents.
What book (outside the Bible) have you read that will stick with you forever? Why? Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. This book retells the story of Hosea and Gomer from the Bible. It’s so powerful and how it reminds us of God’s unchanging, unfailing, and unconditional love for us. The story of Hosea is one of the best redemptive stories I’ve ever read!
What quality do you most appreciate in another person? Honesty! I appreciate someone who can tell me the truth, whether it’s good or bad!
What man or woman has had the greatest influence on your life (and why)? My parents! I look up to them now more than I did when I was little and I thought they were superheroes! They’ve been nothing but supportive of all I wanted to accomplish. They are wonderful examples of who I aspire to be. I cannot ever thank them enough for the things they continually do for me!
Who are your favorite entertainers (musicians, actors, etc.)? I really like Kim Walker, JJ Heller, and John Mark McMillan.
A perfect day for me would include….. Waking up to a wonderful breakfast cooked by my fabulous mother and enjoy it with my whole family. Being with friends all day, and ending it with reading some of John Piper’s wonderful works such as: Desiring God!
What would you consider your greatest achievement? Graduating high school!
What items are on your “bucket list”? I would love to travel! I don’t even care where! Just to see the beauty of the world in person, not just in pictures! I pray that I can be everything God wants me to be in my life. I hope that I can achieve great things for Him!
