CONNECT: David Roach

For today’s CONNECT blog, we continue our series on our recent high school graduates. David Roach is the son of one of our elders, Robert Roach, and his wife, Carol. Two brothers and a sister also attend Holly Hill: Daniel, Andrew and Nancy. His grandparents are Louise and Bob Roach and Dave and Pat Record. David graduated from Lexington Christian Academy and plans on attending Hillsdale College in Michigan. David is from Frankfort and, during the summer, has stayed busy painting apartments for his father.

What do you most enjoy about Holly Hill church of Christ (or about being a Christian)?  Being around other Christians with which I am friends.

What are your hobbies? Reading, watching sports, playing board games, biking, table tennis

What special skills or talents do you have (personal or professional)?  Thoroughness and leadership

What book (outside the Bible) have you read that will stick with you forever? Why? Gorgias by Plato because it has very interesting ideas on the purpose of rhetoric.

What quality do you most appreciate in another person?  Truthfulness

What man or woman has had the greatest influence on your life (and why)? My dad, he’s a good man, and we both have many of the same interests.

Who are your favorite entertainers (musicians, actors, etc.)?  Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, the Temptations, and Otis Redding

A perfect day for me would include….. Biking, some ping pong with my dad, not painting, and reading

What would you consider your greatest achievement? Going to state in Governor’s Cup in eighth grade

What items are on your “bucket list”? Travel, attend a Yankees home game, and a Spurs basketball game
